Visiting Church

We look forward to meeting you! Here are some possible questions you might have about coming to church.

Are children welcome? Absolutely, yes. We love children, and we appreciate that babies and young children can be noisy sometimes. Please don’t let that stop you from taking them. We usually have a crèche and a thriving ‘junior church’ which meet most weeks.

Do I need to wear any particular kind of clothes? No. Some of us wear ‘Sunday best’, others are in shorts and t-shirts! Just wear whatever feels comfortable.

How do I find the church building? Our full address is Christ Church, Christchurch Park, Sutton, SM2 5TN.

There is on-street parking which is free on Sundays. We have a small car park that takes around 10-15 cars.

The main entrance to the church is at the west end of the church- the end closest to Brighton Road. If you’re in the car park, it’s just out of sight- follow the signs. As you go into the church, you’ll be welcomed, and offered the books and bits of paper that you’ll need in the service.

What happens in the service? Please do sit wherever you like. The service leader will let you know everything you need to know to follow along- what page number we’re on, when to stand up, etc etc. Please join in as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Toilets are at the back and the front of church- a steward or member of the welcome team will be glad to give you directions.

What happens after the service? Once the service has finished, many people stay for a while for tea, coffee, and biscuits- if you’re visiting, it would be a really good time to say hello and introduce yourself.

What if I’ve got more questions? We’d love to hear from you if so; please contact us via the form below.
